Shanty of Sandakan No Easy Meat!

Yesterday my heroin Shanty Chong Chui Lin, who had been cheated from winning the Sandakan Parliamentary seat for DAP, filed a petition at the High Court to challenge the March 8 general election results.

She seeks to nullify the general election results for the constituency.

It named Returning Officer Mohd Hamsan Hj Awang Supain as the first respondent and the Election Commission and Liew as the second and third respondents, respectively.

With salary of just less than Rm3000, they could be easily bought off with a small sum of RM30000.

In the first count, Shanty won with more than 100votes but suddenly emerged 304 gazetted postal votes for BN!!!

The petition focuses on the 304 gazetted postal votes and the alleged first respondent's failure to inform Shanty or her election agent of the time and place at which he issued and commenced to add up the number of votes given to each candidate.

It also focuses on an alleged "missing box" which came at about 2135 hour and a counting agent allegedly being denied re-entry to the polling station at Wisma Perbandaran, among others.

It also alleges that the third respondent, through his supporters, was carrying out political campaigning to secure votes by way of harassment and thus violating the Election Offence Act 1954.

It also alleges that the first and second respondents had violated the Election (Postal Voting) Regulations 1959 Rule 10 (1), (2), (3) and (4), the Elections (Conduct of Elections) Regulations 1981 and the Election Offence Act 1954 Sec 32(b).
